Announcer Screen

The Announcer Screen shows detailed information about cars staged, on course, and the last car to finish. Five panels are arranged from top to bottom. The top panel shows the driver at Stage/Start. Below it is Next In—the driver currently on course, or, when multiple cars are on course, the next driver expected to finish. Stage/Start and Next In display the same driver details. Finish shows the same information plus the current finish time and any penalty. At the bottom, an AI Announcer panel provides a script that volunteer announcers can follow.

On the left side of the Announcer Screen are the Top Ten Raw and Top Ten Indexed drivers for the event.

At the bottom left is the Announcements AI Display. When a driver finishes, this panel scripts an announcement that includes the driver’s position and whether the run improved their best time.

If a second monitor is attached, Finish-Time attempts to open the Announcer Screen at start-up. You can also open it at any time with View > Announcer Screen.

TIP: Right-click a driver in the Comparison Table for actions such as Edit, Registration, and Delete.

Finish-Time Details

Toolbar

When you switch to an open Function Panel, its associated toolbar appears at the top of the application window. Most Function Tabs can be closed with the close widget on the tab, keeping the interface uncluttered. The toolbar itself is customizable—right-click anywhere on it and choose the label options you prefer.

The Timing Function Panel cannot be dismissed.

Notifications

At start-up the Notification accessory is hidden. There are two ways to open it. If a notification is pending, the icon appears at the bottom right of the window; click it to view and act on the messages. You can also choose View > Notifications.

During a timed event Finish-Time runs several integrity checks—for example, a driver who has taken more than the allotted runs, or a driver who has not taken any timed runs. Those notifications appear here for you to review and act on.

Top Ten Raw Times

Displays the top ten drivers sorted by raw times.

Top Ten Indexed Times

Displays the top ten drivers sorted by RTP/PAX indexed times.

T-Link Integrity Status

Shows real-time battery and radio signal status for the RaceAmerica T-Link timing system.

Error Log Example

Finish-Time logs errors and, with the option enabled, can send those logs to finish-time.com. An example of what is sent to our server is shown below. We do not collect personal data; the USER listed on line 7 is the club name to which the application is registered.

This option is disabled by default. We encourage you to enable it so that any application bugs can be tracked and fixed for everyone’s benefit.
